Embracing a soul mission
This extraordinary play we call reality has a destined part for everyone: positions, challenges and deep meaning. No matter which form our calling takes, we all have an inner path that is uniquely ours to find and follow – if we listen closely.Â
It may be difficult to find, and sometimes seems to lead us astray – however, walked in trust it will reward us with the most beautiful views and destinations imaginable.
IN BRIEF
Â
Ole-Kristian Krukhaug is a psychedelic guide and integration specialist based in Oslo, Norway. With a background in philosophy (MA, University of Oslo) and psychology, as well as advanced training in philosophical counseling and trauma-informed crisis work, he brings a rare combination of academic depth and real-world experience to his work with psychedelics. At the core of his practice lies a commitment to supporting individual freedom and promoting the democratization of knowledge and the tools that enable personal transformation.
ORIGIN
A life path is rarely straightforward. One part of me would have been perfectly content to stay in my hometown, DombĂĄs — rebuilding cars and motorbikes for sale, perhaps running a small farm and living a quiet life close to my family and friends who shared similar interests.Â
Yet another part of me was restless. At night, I had dreams pointing toward other realms, full of things I could barely glimpse. And in a slightly adapted version of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s words: “Since I could see it, it had to be real.” Something — whether inside or outside of me — was speaking. And I knew I had to listen. Strong forces pulled me in different and often incompatible directions. I had to “try them on for size,” living through identities, relationships, and structures that ultimately dissolved.

FINDING THE MISSION
What once looked like dead ends turned out to be invaluable lessons about myself and about human nature. At the time, I knew I was learning something — but I didn’t know what for. I often asked myself: Why can’t I just live a normal life? In hindsight, all of it was shaping me for the work I do now. I had to pass through nearly every kind of situation, emotion, and struggle in order to learn.Â
As the Roman playwright Terentius Afer (Terence) put it: “Homo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto” — “I am a human being; nothing human is foreign to me.” Little by little, this became a guiding principle in my life.
I no longer believe anyone has the right to interfere with another person’s life choices or their ways of finding meaning. If your choice is to explore psychedelics — for healing, for insight, or for sheer curiosity — that is your choice to make. It is not the business of so-called authorities. Outside of God, there can be no true authority in these matters.
GAINING EXPERIENCE
Before fully dedicating myself to psychedelic guidance, I spent nearly a decade in community mental health services, including municipal crisis teams focused on PTSD prevention. In parallel, I ran my own coaching and counseling practice. This became one of the pillars of my current work.
The other pillar grew out of a long personal exploration of non-ordinary states of consciousness. I first encountered Stanislav Grof’s work on LSD as early as 2002 and went on to spend years practicing breathwork and other non-pharmacological methods. Since 2016, I have worked intensively with psychedelics as tools for insight, healing, and transformation. And since 2021, I have offered professional support as a psychedelic guide, facilitating 80-100 sessions per year.Â

INTO THE QUEST
Every true quest begins with a call — a stirring within, a longing for something beyond the ordinary. Answering this call means stepping outside the familiar and into unknown territory.
On the path, we encounter trials: fears, memories, doubts, and the dissolution of old identities. These challenges are not obstacles to be avoided, but gateways to transformation. With the right support, what feels like chaos can become the very crucible of growth.
Through more than 100 personal journeys and hundreds of client sessions, I have seen what helps — and what hinders — real transformation. My approach rests on respect for the individual, safe and steady guidance, and meaningful integration. Above all, The Psychedelic Quest is rooted in care for human beings and a deep belief in growth, joy, and freedom — even for those carrying heavy burdens from childhood, trauma, or simply the twists and turns of life.
The road is rarely easy. But it leads somewhere meaningful. For me, it led to discovering my mission.
